I've used stamps by Altenew in my simple card, colored in with Copics. The flower is popped up with 3d stickers and I also added some small pearls to the design. Easy peasy.

Here's my card featuring these stamps:

I've made the bg with sponging inks and then "stamping" with a stencil and water. My real stamping is done with Versamark and I've heat embossed the sentiment and bouquet with white powder. I added some gems to the bouquet, otherwise this is an embellishment-free card! Looking at it now I wish I had rounded an edge or two.... Oh well! :)

I hope you'll now check what Laura and STAMPlorations design team members have created for your inspiration. Commenting closes on 3rd of February. Click here for the blog hop list and happy hopping!

New Challenge at TIME OUT Challenges!

Hi guys!
We have a new challenge for you at TIME OUT:

Valentine's Day With Optional Twist of Hearts

STAMPlorations sponsors us with two amazing prizes, both randomly drawn: either use hearts in your project or leave a comment at special TIME OUT post at STAMPlorations here. There you'll find lots of inspiration from the STAMPlorations team and our own challenge blog is filled with beautiful cards from TIME OUT DT and talented guest designer Valentyna: Don't forget to check out all the wonderful projects!

In my card I've used a new STAMPlorations set called Sentiment Builder: Love which is part of the new January release. We have a fun blog hop for you at STAMPlorations next week, do join us! :)

I have heat embossed the sentiment on vellum and shaded the heart with a Copic marker and Wink of Stella glitter pen. My bg is dry embossed with Simon Says Stamp falling hearts stencil: I've used it as an embossing folder with my Cuttlebug. The hearts are almost impossible to see in the photo but they are there. :)

I hope to see you all playing along at TIME OUT!

New Challenge at One Layer Christmas Cards!

Hi guys!
Thank you everyone who played along in our first ever challenge at One Layer Christmas Cards. We have just begun with a new challenge and it is Anything Goes with the optional twist of snowflakes. Our challenges are always anything goes but if you use the twist you'll have a chance to win a prize in our monthly prize drawing. I hope to see you playing along!

I've made my DT card using a snowflake stencil and sponging two shades of blue DI:s. The Christmas sentiment (in Finnish) is just simply stamped this time although now when I look at it, I could have heat embossed it... Well, this will do! :) The stencil was very intricate and I had to make few tries before getting it right: it had to be glued down with temporary glue dots (I have these super small ones from Letratec, very easy to use) to make it work. I do love the final look though! Please click here for more DT inspiration. You'll have a fortnight to play along. See you at One Layer Christmas Cards!

New Sketch Challenge at STAMPlorations!

HI guys!
You are looking at my DT card for the second sketch challenge of January at STAMPlorations! Click here for stunning inspiration from our DT members and guest designer Maria ... And then think how you'll want to use the sketch! I decided to flip it: I wanted to use the so so so cute macarones from Sugar Rush and make a Valentine's Day card with them. I've colored the macarones with Copics. The hearts are sponged through a stencil. Only one embellishment: a die cut heart ! :)

The winner of this sketch challenge will receive 3 STAMPlorations digi stamps and a possibility to guest design in a future challenge. We will also choose 2 top picks and they have a chance to guest design too... So it's really worth playing along! Read all the details about  the prizes from the challenge post.

I hope to see you playing along!

"Ombre" at Inkspirational!

HI friends!
Here's my DT card for the current Inkspirational Challenge: Ombre. The challenge was chosen by the talented DT member Pia. I'd love you to take a look how our DT members created their ombre looks so do head on our to our challenge blog! In case you are not familiar with the concept of ombre, here's a clarification:

"Ombré is when the colour is graduated in tone eg. a colour that fades from dark grey to light grey."

I chose to work with blues in my card. The center panel is first sponged with 3 shades of blue DI:s and then water stamped with a Simon Says Stamp stencil. The flowers (Altenew) are colored in with Copics. The sentiment is from the same set.

I  hope you'll join me, the DT and our guest designer Deepti in this fun challenge!

STAMPlorations Monthly Challenge Reminder: Stamps and Inks!

HI friends!
I'm here to remind you of our current monthly challenge at STAMPlorations: Stamps and Inks. I made a sweet little one layer with one of the latest sets: Trendy Butterflies. I've stamped my butterflies partly with black Versafine and partly with Versamark -the Versamark ones are embossed with clear powder. I then sponged the center panel with some DI:s through a die-cut mask. I think I managed to use quite a lot of inks here! :) Please join us in our January challenge... All the information and plenty of DT inspiration here

Photo Inspiration at TIME OUT Challenges!

Say Hello: Perk up your home with a friendly welcome sign. For an added boost, choose a bright, funky color. Source: Instagram user decorame

Hi friends,
It's time for the first TIME OUT Challenge of 2015!We are beginning with an extra special Home Sweet Home photo inspiration: Uniko Studios sponsors our challenge with two prizes! One 15 £ voucher is drawn between all the entrants of our challenge and another 15 £ voucher is drawn between all of you who leave a comment on Uniko blog during our challenge. Please read all the details from our challenge blog where you'll find fab DT inspiration as well! Our GD this time is Chrissie. Many of you know her from Less Is More Challenge. Chrissie is a talented, inspirational card maker -do visit her blog and leave her some love!

My inspiration from the photo is pretty obvious: I picked the wooden bg, chose orange from one of the pillows and went for floral theme. The sentiment is of course inspired of the photo too! The flower stamp I used is from an Uniko set called Pure Florals: Chrysantenium. The sentiment is from STAMPlorations, you'll find it here . I stamped the flower on a die cut tag (thanks again, Sarah!!) and colored it with Copics. The background is patterned paper. A very simple card!

I hope to see you joining our first challenge of 2015! Take some TIME OUT and craft, people! :)

First Ever One Layer Christmas Cards Challenge!

Looking for my CASology GD card? Scroll down or click here.

Hi friends!
This is already my second post for today... Busy day at Runaway Cards! :)

You might have noticed the new DT badge on my sidebar: I'm very happy to be part of the design team of a new challenge blog called One Layer Christmas Card Challenge! We have 2 challenges for you every month. The challenges are always anything goes with an optional twist -this time it's "red". If you follow the twist you have a chance to win a prize that's drawn once a month!

I created the ornament in my card by first sponging pink ink through a die cut aperture. I then placed a Simon Says Stencil on top of the sponged ornament (my die cut mask still in place) and stenciled flowers with darker red ink. The string and bow are stamped with stamps by Papertery Ink... And the sentiment (heat embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum) comes from STAMPlorations set Christmas Flower. Several of One Layer Christmas DT girls used this flower in their cards by the way, don't forget to check them out here! I'm very excited to be in this new design team with all these talented ladies. I hope to see you joining us and playing along!

I'd like to join these challenges:

Guest Designing at CASology!

Näytetään Week 128 - Date.jpg

Hi guys!
I'm very honored to guest design at CASology today. CASology is one of the coolest challenge blogs around and I can't believe I won there a couple of weeks ago. Thank you so much Melissa for inviting me to join this week's challenge and Happy 2015 to everyone in CASology design team!

I wanted to have a go with stenciling in my card. I used a bold patterned Simon Says Stamp stencil I hadn't had a chance to use yet -my goal was to try to make the big patterns work in my CAS design. I figured that if I use the patterns sparingly and stick to a simple color palette I might make it work!

I die cut the tag out of a bigger piece of card I had previously sponged with 3 red inks (combo of DI:s and Mementos) and water stamped with the same stencil. That turned out nice! The silhouette stamp in my card is from the Ever After set by STAMPlorations and the sentiment is from a PTI set.

In the card base I masked a strip from the edge and sponged the stenciled design with black Memento ink. The tag is attached with 3d foam stickers for dimension. I only added a piece of ribbon to keep the embellies at minimum.

I hope you think I succeeded in making the bold patterns work for CAS... And I can't wait to see the different interpretations on the DATE- cue card! Thanks again Melissa and CASology DT for having me!

New Sketch at STAMPlorations!

Hi guys!
We are back with our challenges at STAMPlorations! I love the first sketch for 2015 and hope to see you playing along! Our guest designer is Kim Makortoff from Art Keeps Me Sane. Kim is one of my favorite bloggers, she is so talented and a lovely person... Do visit her blog if you are unfamiliar with it!

All the challenge info is to be found here. We offer even more guest designer spots than before so it's definitely worth playing along now. Don't miss the fun! :)

In my DT card (sketch is flipped by the way) I've used stamps from Sugar Rush and paired them with patterned papers, doily and twine. My inspiration for this card was an American Diner... How did I do? My coloring is done with Copics and there's also some extra "frosting" with sparkly embossing glitter (WOW).  Have a nice week everyone and I hope to see you at STAMPlorations!

Thank You Card for Sarah!

Hi friends!
Here's a thank you- card I made for Sarah, one of my teammates at TIME OUT Challenges. If you don't know Sarah, do visit her blog Funky Fossil Designs -she makes super stylish cards! Sarah very kindly sent me the tag die I used in this card as Christmas present (along with a Wink of Stella pen and some beautiful sequins!) so I wanted to send her a card as thank you, using the fun die. :) I used stamps by Avocado Art and Simon Says Stamp falling snow stencil with embossing paste in my tag. The sky is inked with DI and my penguin is colored in with Copics. I opted for a very simple layout.

I'd like to enter these challenges:

Word Prompt "Note" at Inkspirational!

Hi friends!
It's time to start the first Inkspirational Challenge for 2015! It's a cool word prompt: note. The DT has been very creative with this one... Take a look here. I'm also excited about our GD Marika, a very talented card maker who nowadays happens to be my friend IRL as well! I found her blog here in blogland and we have met several times already -we happen to live in the same town. I actually loved Marika's take on the word prompt so much I asked if I could have the card and I got it! I paid with coffee, home made juice out of pineapple and oranges, warm sandwiches (made and served by hubby while we chatted!) and some store bought donuts. ;)

Anyways, to my card... I used one of the delicious stamps from STAMPlorations: Sugar Rush and colored it with Copics. The sentiment comes from Avocado Arts. I also used a die cut "piece of music" which I've received as a gift -if I remember right our team member Pia sent it to me for my birthday last year. :) Do you agree, Pia, was it you?

That's all from me today. I hope to see you all playing along at Inkspirational and Happy New Year 2015!
